This is a piece submitted by Christopher Stills, Manager of AMC Theatre 16 of Baton Rouge. The article was submitted for our spring 2025 newsletter's focus on "All Things Sensory"--a sampling of the secret menu of sensory perks by individuals, organizations, and businesses found in the Baton Rouge area.
AMC has partnered with the Autism Society of America to offer unique movie showings where we turn the lights up and turn the sound down. Our Sensory Friendly Film program is available on the second (2nd) and fourth (4th) Saturday (family-friendly) and Wednesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month. We also have Assistive Moviegoing Devices for any guests who would like to request one. The devices that we have are: Hearing-Impaired Devices, Visually Impaired Devices, and Closed Captioning Devices. If anyone is interested in hosting an event feel free to reach out to your local AMC Theatre. Over the past couple years, we have partnered with different organizations in the Baton Rouge community to host events at our theatre. All of our Assistive Moviegoing Devices are available at all AMC Theatres nationwide.

We want everyone to feel welcome at our theatre. We turn the lights up and the sound down, so you can feel free to be you at these unique showings for people living with autism and other special needs. To find out which theatres in your particular area are offering sensory friendly showings, please visit our website to find out information: www.amctheatres.com/programs/sensory-friendly-films. Come book with us at AMC Theatres Baton Rouge 16, reach out to us via phone (225-753-2744) or email 0463@amctheatres.com. We would love to host your event and to make smiles happen!
